“When I'm with my clients, I have one obsession and that is to continually search for innovative ways to develop intercultural skills.”

Of French nationality, Laurence Bonnafous joined the team of Pateau Consultants in the year 2005 to contribute to intercultural training programs in the context of international cooperation, in particular at Aventis.

During her studies at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Montpellier (France), she participated in a Franco-German exchange and completed a part of her studies at the Fachhochschule in Worms. After receiving her degree, she spent 6 months in the United States at the School for International Training where she underwent a real intercultural awakening amid the 60 nationalities represented there. From 1984 to 1990 she was a product manager for French and German companies in both Paris and Frankfurt. Laurence then decided to carry out a personal project and spent 2 years traveling around the world. Armed with the wealth of her diverse personal as well as professional experiences in 7 different countries, she returned to Paris and decided to work in the field of training for a multicultural public and became an independent consultant.

She combined doctoral studies in training engineering and management at the Conservatoire Nationale des Arts et Métiers with her activities in the fields of management, intercultural communication and trainer training. She has worked in France as well as Africa, North America and Europe for such companies as Volvo, Eurocopter, The Meridien hotel, the RATP (Parisian Public Transportation System) and institutions such as the Chamber of Commerce of Paris, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Council as well as American and French NGOs. Since '96 she has participated in transnational research and training projects within the framework of such European programs as LINGUA, NOW, TELEMATICS.

She is especially interested in intercultural skills, their development, their implementation and acknowledgement in the corporate environment.
